For a long time I thought of part of my family as a trophy as it was nice to talk about being half Greek. However, in 2022 I went to visit family in Voula, Greece after 12 years since our last trip. During this trip it was sweet but it really wasn’t until a few weeks, even months, that the culture really set roots. In 2024 I moved to Texas and began working at Suitsupply. I came into contact with many cultures and was deeply inspired to know and live by a culture that my family was apart of. I began learning Greek and even though I can’t say I am good just yet, I loved it. As my season in Texas closed and I began to pray on next steps I realized that I was able to take big leaps through faith.

Throughout high school I worked in the coffee industry and would scroll through Pinterest everyday dreaming of having my own coffee shop. I genuinely just believed I wasn’t qualified to live up to such a dream. However, even in the fashion industry I started out serving coffee and in my church I became the barista. As my heart burned to be back in Louisiana, I knew I wanted to come home with a vision that would stir the heart of the people like God stirred my heart.

The Greek Cup is more than a dream or a traditional coffee. It is a root to restoration and reconciliation. When I think of Greek coffee, I think of the moment me and my dad shared a love for coffee and our relationship was reconciled laughing over whether I should get behind the bar of a coffee shop in Greece.

Sip Like a Greek

In Greece, coffee isn’t just a drink-it’s a lifestyle. It’s a slow moment, a conversation, a connection. Whether enjoyed in a lively city square or a quiet village courtyard, Greek coffee is woven into the rhythm of daily life. At Opa, we bring that tradition to you-hot or cold, simple or sweet, always delicious.

:Traditional Greek Coffee (Kaés Enviós): Our classic Greek coffee is brewed the old-fashioned way-in a briki (a small pot) over gentle heat.Ground to a fine powder, the coffee is simmered slowly with water and sugar (if desired), never stirred once heating begins. What results is a rich, thick coffee with a smooth foam on top (kaimaki and grounds settled at the bottom of the cup. It’s meant to be sipped slowly. No rush. Greek coffee invites you to pause, reflect, and enjoy the moment!

~Iced Favorites: Greeks also love their coffee cold-especially under the sun! Here are two of our iced classics that are summer staples:

:Frappe (Фрап) – The Original Iced Coffee:Invented in Greece in the 1950s, the Frappe is a shaken blend of instant coffee, water, and sugar, topped with ice and sometimes milk. It’s frothy, refreshing, and deeply nostalgic for many Greeks. You’ll see people sipping frappes by the sea, at street cafés, or during a break from work-it’s pure summer in a cup.

:Freddo Espresso & Freddo Cappuccino:The newer generation’s go-to. Made with freshly brewed espresso, shaken over ice, and optionally topped with creamy cold milk foam (Freddo Cappuccino), these drinks are bold, cool, and stylish.
They’re strong in flavor and full of energy-just like modern Greek life.
